I recently had the chance to see Kerry Thomas, aspiring singer, songwriter, and acoustic guitarist, live at "Dilemma Hour" this past January at Slick's Jxn in Jackson, Mississippi. Having no backup singers, dancers, or fancy choreography for his performance, Thomas took the stage only with his guitar and a complimentary bar stool and managed to grasp the attention of every single occupant of the room that night. Bravo.

Adding his own style and melodic voice to a few famous covers, Thomas was more than able to charm the room. Thomas has been singing professionally for the past two years and has made some major accomplisments within that short period of time. His most notable performance at the House of Blues in New Orleans, L.A. allowed him to share the stage with recording artists N.E.R.D. and PAC DIV.

Residing in Jackson, Mississippi, Thomas is a native of Baton Rouge, LA and a graduate of Tougaloo College, having received the great honor of Magna Cum Laude in 2007 (brains and talent, watch out now!) and went on to receive a Masters in Business Administration from Jackson State University in 2009. Thomas performs regularly at premier urban lounge, Suite 106, in Jackson, MS. Thomas notes Stevie Wonder, John Legend, and Eric Roberson as being his musical inspiration and cites John Mayer at being his inspiration behind picking up a guitar (one of my own personal favorites!)

Taking his talents on the road, Thomas has traveled through various venues in Dallas and Houston, TX, Atlanta, GA, and Louisiana receiving positive reviews much like my own from having the chance the see him perform in Jackson, MS.
